Rasmus founded OceanChips with a simple idea: to transform what others consider waste into something valuable. Instead of letting fish skin go to waste, he saw the potential to create a healthy, crispy, and sustainable snack.
OceanChips are chips made from fish skin—rich in protein, collagen, vitamins, and omega-3—produced with a focus on waste reduction and respect for the ocean’s resources. The vision is to demonstrate that great taste, health, and sustainability can go hand in hand.
The idea began in a small kitchen, where countless trial batches were tested, tasted, and seasoned to find the perfect combination.
After numerous experiments, Rasmus gradually moved closer to a result he felt was truly worthwhile. Samples were prepared, tasted, and shared with friends and family to find out whether they would actually eat and buy the product. Some said no, others maybe—but most said yes. That was when the idea truly began to take shape.
From thought to action.
Hanstholm Harbour is Denmark’s largest port, so it made sense to establish the company there. The facilities are located at Hanstholm Harbour, ensuring OceanChips remains close to its partners and suppliers.
